Description
We are looking to hire an Accountant - Outstations based in Ahmedabad, India.
This position will primarily responsible for performing Accounts Payable related activities such as receiving, verifying, processing, and reconciling supplier invoices as per Qatar Airways Group policies, procedures, and guidelines.
To process and account for Outstations Staff Duty Travel Requests and Expenses, ensuring adherence to company policy, accuracy in accounting, and timely reconciliation of staff AP supplier accounts. The role includes managing duty travel advances, expense claims, and recoveries, while ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Process Staff Duty travel requests, advances, and expenses in GEMS as per policy.
- Validate submitted expense claims for accuracy, eligibility, and compliance with duty travel policies.
- Ensure all supporting documents are attached and verified for completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor and reconcile staff AP supplier accounts, ensuring no overdue balances.
- Send reminders to staff for pending duty travel advance clearances.
- Perform accurate and timely accounting for staff advances, expenses, and recoveries in the ERP system.
- Ensure duty travel expenses are correctly allocated to cost centres, GL accounts, and locations.
- Verify and ensure compliance of out-of-pocket claims with policy and proper documentation.
- Recover per diem and ticket refunds in case of travel cancellations or unused tickets.
- Ensure hotel bookings and other travel arrangements comply with policy and staff eligibility.
- Perform accounting and processing of complex supplier categories and transactions in ERP.
- Recharge duty travel expenses to subsidiaries or raise debit notes for third-party sponsorships.
- Respond to audit queries, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided.
- Communicate with Local GBS teams for payments, recoveries, and staff payroll adjustments.
- Prepare month-end journal vouchers, statistical reports, and reconciliation schedules.
- Monitor and meet SLAs and KPIs, escalating queries to the line manager as needed.
- Address staff queries, follow up with relevant departments, and provide high-quality service.
- Execute period-end close activities for outstation-related tasks.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, internal procedures, and updated instructions.
- Prepare and book adjusting journal entries and maintain Balance Sheet GL Reconciliations.
- Ensure timely delivery of reports, dashboards, and other adhoc requests.
- Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualifications
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 1 years of job-related experience
- Bachelor of Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or equivalent.
- Experience in working in Accounts Payable with good understanding of the invoice accounting cycle, prepayments, debit memos and Supplier Aging.
- Good Accounting knowledge in AP, AR and GL with user-level experience in ERP (Oracle).
- Experience in working with banks and bank portals, various payment types and payment controls.
- Preferred accounting Experience in the Airline industry.
- Good knowledge of Countries, Airport codes, different currencies and airline ticket structure.
- Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with various currencies and Rate of Exchange.
