Position Summary
Position: Supply Chain / Planner Intern
Location: Otsego, Michigan; 17 miles from WMU
Pay: $18 – $22 depending on credit hours
Essential Functions:
- Maintain a variety of schedules, records, and reports pertaining to the tracking of materials through the production cycle and availability of production resources.
- Assists in executing requisite system transactions needed to support the receipt, storage and transferring of material.
- Assists with the monitoring of inventory levels; generating tracking reports and performing data entry as required.
- Assist with being a go between for the Planning Manager and the Ops Manager of the Value Stream to ensure that the scheduling system is being maintained and executed correctly.
- Communicate with Vendors to review late PO’s
- Execute Daily Job Scheduling and Kanban board review
- Learn Inventory Management Software to be able to run monthly usage updates
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Working toward college degree in Business, Engineering, or Materials Management
- Analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and automation opportunities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with customers; internal and external.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Understanding of electronic processing
- Certification in supply chain management preferred
- Junior or Senior year status preferred
