OVERVIEW
We are seeking experienced UH-60 Avionics Technicians to support a long-term UH-60 maintenance and modification program in Guntersville, AL. This role will involve performing phase maintenance, modifications, and avionics installations on U.S. Military Blackhawks. The program is set to run through 2025, with additional projects running concurrently.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Perform glass cockpit and autopilot installations, along with other avionics upgrades on various UH-60 Black Hawk models.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and electronic malfunctions using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on avionics components, including navigation, communication, and radar systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Install, test, and validate avionics modifications and system upgrades to enhance performance and comply with regulatory and mission requirements.
- Perform functional tests and system inspections to verify avionics integrity and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct electrical system checks, ensuring proper function of wiring, connectors, and power distribution systems.
- Inspect and maintain communication and navigation systems, including radios, transponders, and GPS.
- Perform flight instrument inspections, ensuring accuracy and reliability of attitude indicators, altimeters, and other critical flight displays.
- Verify the integrity of power distribution, circuit protection, and data bus systems, ensuring reliability in demanding operational environments.
- Execute avionics software and firmware updates as required to maintain system performance.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance personnel to ensure the aircraft meets mission readiness and safety standards.
- Utilize electrical test equipment (multimeters, test sets), hand tools (DMC crimpers, wire strippers), and other specialty tools (heat guns, soldering tools).
- Conduct Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) to ensure system performance.
- Provide own hand tools; specialty tools will be supplied.
- Perform termination of connectors, including coaxial cables; clamp harnesses as required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 6-10+ years of electronics experience (modifications & troubleshooting required).
- UH-60 Blackhawk experience is required (other helicopter experience is a plus).
- Prior 15F Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) experience is a plus.
- Strong avionics modification and installation background (glass cockpit/autopilot installations preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical data.
- Ability to forgo a pre-employment standard DOT drug test, criminal background check, and basic health physical.
- Reliable personal transportation/vehicle.
- Proof of US citizenship
- Valid US Driver’s License
- Clean DD214 record
- MUST have basic tools
PAY & SCHEDULE
- Paid hourly based off of experience
- OT time and a half
- SPLIT per diem available to those that qualify
- Paid weekly after first week.
