Job Description:
West Michigan based Avionics Company has an opening for an Avionics Service Technician.  As an Avionics Service Technician, you will perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, removal and replacement of aircraft instruments, avionics components and systems on various aircraft models.  In addition, this position will communicate and interact with customers regarding aircraft technical issues.

Additional Job Functions:
  • Perform preflight evaluations of avionics and instrument systems and in-flight troubleshooting and adjustments if necessary.
  • Perform RVSM inspections & IFR Certifications
  • Pitot-Static system testing, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Order necessary parts to complete the job.
  • Enter description of work completed on the work order and properly documents removal and installation of aircraft  parts and components.
Job Requirements:
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years avionics experience in General Aviation and/or Business Aviation
  • Knowledge in aircraft avionics systems
  • Knowledge of FAR’s and AC 43.13 standard practices
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft wiring diagrams
  • Understanding of basic electrical components & systems
  • Proficient with soldering and terminal/pin crimping techniques
  • Good troubleshooting skills with both digital & analog systems
  • Knowledge of autopilot systems
  • Familiarization with basic Avionics test equipment
  • Candidate must be service oriented and able to work at a fast pace and handle stress and problematic issues well with a good attitude
  • Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and work within a team-focused environment.
