Come join us at Colibrium Additive as an EBM Process Development Engineer! As a development engineer at Colibrium Additive, you will be a part of a team of application and material experts working collaboratively to develop the Electron Beam Melting (EBM) process. The EBM process is the core of our technology, and you will interact various disciplines that collectively form the EBM Engineering and Technology team.At Colibrium Additive, part of GE Aerospace, we develop and design the most advanced metal 3D-printers in the world. Our state-of-the-art machines are engineered by our team in Sweden, manufactured in Germany, and utilized globally to produce items such as medical implants and turbine blades for jet engines. The EBM division of Colibrium Additive has the benefit of being a smaller, agile company with the resources of a global enterprise. You will work closely with colleagues in Germany and US, as well as with customers around the world.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Master the operation of our EBM machines
  • Optimize process parameter settings for established materials for the EBM machines
  • Qualify material processes for release, including both existing and new materials
  • Conduct material lab work, including tensile testing and microscopy
  • Develop and evaluate melt process tools, encompassing both software and hardware
  • Enhance our internal work process and quality assurance process
  • Participate in development projects within cross-functional teams
  • Support the service organization with customer issues and contribute to customer projects
  • Assist the sales organization and product management with your expertise

Required Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Physics or Material Engineering
  • 0-5 years’ work experience
  • Basic understanding of six sigma tools and data-driven development
  • Basic programming skill (e.g. python)
  • Oral and written communication skills in English
