Arconic is currently in search of a Engineering and Maintenance Manager to join our Lead Team based in Alcoa, TN. The successful candidate will set the vision for the location by formulating and guiding the implementation of long- and short-range plans, policies and programs associated with current and proposed product offerings, within the broad framework of business unit and corporate strategy and under the direction of senior management to achieve approved objectives. Assist in development and execution of the 5-year Tennessee Operations strategy, including: growth projects, sustaining projects and major maintenance initiatives. Directs and manages multiple concurrent engineering projects and project managers.
In this role, you will:
- The successful candidate will supervise various positions including but not limited to engineers, technical staff, supervisors, and hourly maintenance workers.
- Assist in development and execution of the 5-year Tennessee Operations strategy, including: Growth projects, sustaining projects and major maintenance initiatives.
- Directs and manages multiple concurrent engineering projects and project managers.
- Implement and manage engineering budgets. Monitors expenses and analyzes and offsets budget variances when required.
- Lead maintenance and engineering efforts to improve: Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance.
- Mentor and support: Engineers, Manufacturing personnel, Maintenance mechanics and electricians and provide technical leadership, training, and project oversight.
- Perform administrative and leadership duties: approve proposals and expenditures, enforce company policies and conduct performance management for subordinate team members.
- Supports and directs the tactical and long-range activities of the location including, but not limited to, engineering, quality, EHS, manufacturing, financial, communications, public relations, and operational aspects with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability.
- Drives CAPEX deployment and goal setting.
- Establishes the metrics to drive improvement and refine activities to meet projected outcomes. Interaction focuses on providing leadership to and managing all assigned duties to accomplish budgeted financial objectives and meet customer requirements.
- Champions a clear channel of communication and coordination between functional counterparts in the location – engineering, finance, manufacturing, operations, and quality and entities external to the business unit. Responsible for cross-functional coordination and specification of effective processes and standards for support departments.
- Maintains an awareness of, and exercises sound business judgment in such areas as spanet conditions, competitive activities, general economic conditions and related matters.
- Assures Tennessee Operations and Business Unit continuous improvement plans are implemented and effective across all manufacturing and support areas.
- Manages an effective team including hiring, motivating, evaluating, developing and counseling to ensure right fit for role and ready now candidates for succession planning. Serves as model and ensures a diverse workforce and inclusive culture is established at location. Champion initiatives which create an engaged employee environment.

- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills including using skills with groups of employees, managers, customers, and general public.

Basic Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Experience:
• 10+ years in heavy manufacturing (metals industry preferred)• 5–9 years in project management• 3–5 years in a supervisory role (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
• Technical Expertise (10–12 years) in one or more of the following: • Casting• Hot rolling• Cold rolling• Mill finishing• Facilities
Experience:
• 10–12 years in project management• 8+ years in a supervisory role
