As a Lead Engineer in the CFD and Methods team within the Aero-Thermal Mechanical Systems organization, you will perform research and development in computational fluid dynamics towards the development of next generation technologies, for turbomachinery and non-tradition turbomachinery products.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Execute tasks using your technical skills for projects in the field of computational fluid dynamics.
- Define requirements and execute design practices using proprietary and commercial CFD solvers, analysis systems and databases to predict the structural response of mechanical components and systems.
- Drive the development of high-fidelity computational analyses techniques
- Participate in the definition and execution of experiments to validate analytical results.
- Work with other support functions and/or external suppliers to meet project deliverables.
- Prepare and participate in project and technical reviews. Deliver presentations, reports, and publications to engineering staff, GE businesses and external agencies.
- Provide expertise to help resolve technical challenges across the organization.
- Collaborate in the development of internal and external project proposals and initiatives.
- Foster a multidisciplinary and inclusive team environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline with a strong background in computational fluid dynamics with a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience, or a master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related disciplines with at least 6 years of experience in computational fluid dynamics in an industrial environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and CFD
- Experience in meshing & using engineering simulation/analysis tools (such as CFX or Fluent) to model turbomachinery flows.
- Demonstrated proficiency in meshing & using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), hi-fidelity LES based approach and high performance computing
- Ability to investigate, model and provide critical insight into complex physical flow phenomena, specifically for advanced cooling strategies for gas turbine elements

The base pay range for this position is $90,000 - $175,000 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on September 30th, 2025.
