An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Lead R&D Engineer/Scientist in Hydroprocessing Development within Honeywell UOPs Research and Development organization. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to champion and lead the development of new hydroprocessing technology solutions for the production of both conventional and sustainable products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and drive New Product Development programs with multi-functional teams to develop innovative new catalyst and process technology technologies
  • Lead the design and execution of pilot plant experimental programs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional specialists to develop winning commercial offerings
  • Maintain awareness of the market, competition, and new technology developments and contribute to the development technology development strategies.
  • Identify novel solutions and author invention disclosures
  • Act as a local and global mentor for the less experienced scientists / engineers
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Technology, Engineering, Research & Development, or Technical Service role within the refining and petrochemical industries
WE VALUE
  • Advanced degree (MS, PhD) in chemical engineering or chemistry
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a strong focus on delivering results and identifying alternative solutions when challenges arise
  • Strong understanding of catalysis and chemical engineering fundamentals and its application in the development of new catalyst solutions
  • Experience in project execution including planning, organizing, monitoring, and successfully completing multidisciplinary projects
  • Experience in developing and executing experimental plans including the use of statistical tools for data analysis
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and their application in managing risk and uncertainty. Six Sigma green belt certification is preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset in the application to technology development in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure all aspects of projects are clearly understood and well documented.
  • Flexibility to work across cultures and time zones
