You will be the Service Life Analysis Engineer for the F-35 Lightning II program which is responsible for advancing aircraft durability and safety.


What You Will Be Doing


As the Service Life Analysis Engineer you will be responsible for applying Durability and Damage Tolerance analysis to complex structural challenges on the F-35.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Conduct DADT and fatigue analysis, detail part sizing, and strength assessment of primary and secondary aircraft structure and systems.

  • Use crack initiation and growth analysis tools for design sizing, Material Review Board (MRB) reviews, drawing reviews, and prepare analysis reports.

  • Develop force‑management source data to actively manage the airframe and ensure safe operation.

  • Create and implement Force Structural Maintenance Plans (FSMPs) and Individual Aircraft Tracking (IAT) to support force‑management activities.

Further Information About This Opportunity


MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.


Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil Engineering
- Understanding of F-35 Material Review Board (MRB) process, stress analysis, fatigue / durability analysis, crack growth / damage tolerance analysis
- Understanding of Navy and Air Force Service Life Analysis criteria, engineering drawing practices, material properties, and manufacturing processes
Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in airframe drawings, structural load paths, aircraft structural behavior, fracture mechanics methods, and aircraft maintenance requirements.
- Strong understanding of production process and ability to make appropriate risk-based decisions.
- Excellent communication skills - Ability to work independently without oversight.
- Understanding of Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs under MIL-STD-1530.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work, multi-task, and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
