Job Description

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 3 to serve as an Engineering Lead and Department Manager for the Central Region Software, Electronics, and Payloads organization within Alabama Engineering.

Essential Functions:

• Manage an organization of >100 multidisciplinary employees.

• Serve as primary Engineering liaison to a Program Manager with oversight of team execution, staffing, indirect budgets, and process changes.

• Be responsible for daily communication, performance assessment, development, and recognition of direct reports and subordinate departments.

• Develop high performing teams with strong levels of engagement including mentoring and coaching.

• Assist the AL Engineering Director with technology initiatives, employee engagement, staffing projections, and support of new business acquisitions.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline

• 10+ years of experience in any combination of engineering disciplines accompanied by high proficiency in technical problem solving

• Active DoD Secret security clearance

• Must have proven technical and personnel management experience through program IPT, R&D, or functional environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master of Science in a STEM discipline

• Knowledge and experience with Missile Defense Systems

• Experience managing technical teams with budgetary responsibility

Primary Level Salary Range: $184,300.00 - $276,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
