Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Senior Manager to oversee the Systems Engineering department activities supporting the Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) business under Precision Navigation Systems.  The Systems Engineering Manager will be involved in all phases of the product life, including proposal preparation, brainstorming sessions, design, supplier support, manufacturing support, non-conforming material analysis, qualification testing, failure investigations, and sustaining activities. Additionally, you will be responsible for the technical performance of personnel in a team of about 10-15 engineers.   

What You Will Do
   • Lead and manage the systems engineering team, providing guidance and mentorship to the team members
   • Define and document systems requirements for IFF Transponder and Interrogator products, ensuring alignment with program needs and objectives
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software design, hardware design, test automation, whole life engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing and operations
   • Facilitate requirements workshops and review with stakeholders to gather, validate, and prioritize requirements
   • Manage requirement changes and traceability throughout the project lifecycle
   • Develop and maintain requirements management tools and methodologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices
   • Support Pursuit & Order capture activities including bidding & estimation efforts for new programs

Qualifications You Must Have  
   • Experience with IFF Transponders and Interrogators, knowledge of Air Identification Mark System (AIMS) requirements such as AIMS 17-1000 and the certification process
   • Strong experience with Engineering management in a matrix organization
   • Experience communicating orally and in writing with various Engineering organizations, groups and customer and company leadership organizations
   • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer
   • Experience with Secondary and Primary RADAR systems
   • Experience with development for DoD customers
   • Experience with Earned Value Management
   • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and champions MSBE best practices
   • Experience providing mentorship to team members at various career levels (entry, intermediate and senior level)

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
