POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs assigned manufacturing related equipment throughout the facility in accordance with standard procedures, internal requirements, manufacturers specifications and safety policies. Performs complex skilled work across multiple-functions and operations of the preventive maintenance system. Knowledge of both electrical and mechanical preferred. Multi-craft experience. DAY SHIFT POSITION: Core hours of 6:00 - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Voluntary overtime when available.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturers instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains existing mechanical systems and associated equipment including, air compressors, cooling towers, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, welding, electrical/electronic equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and heavy manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to use and maintain a computerized maintenance work order notification system. PM system.
- Capable of developing standard work instructions for equipment.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade involved. Use appropriate personal protective and safety equipment.
- Skilled in the care and use of tools and equipment.
- Follows detailed operational instructions, procedures and blueprints while conducting maintenance activities
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations. Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in related field
TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS - HOURLY
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to operate equipment and talk or hear. Additionally, the ability to use foot pedals for powered equipment. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk along with pushing, pulling, and lifting items. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distant visual acuity with the ability to see color if welding stainless. Also expected of the employee is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others and members of the public, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
