Position Description:
We have an immediate opening for a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer “M” to support the Langley, BC Business Unit. This position is responsible for providing repair services on a variety of helicopters including Sikorsky, Bell and Airbus products. Duties will include carrying out OEM approved inspections, repairs and overhaul to airframes and components following all customer and regulatory quality standards. Strong project coordination skills as well as knowledge of aircraft systems and aviation standards will be essential. The ability to produce quality work in non-negotiable deadlines is a key part to this position.
Key areas of responsibilities:
- Disassembly and Reassembly of Helicopters for the purpose of general maintenance, inspections, modifications and repairs.
- Helicopter inspections including Annual type, 600 hr/24Mth, 12 Year Major and corrosion.
- Perform Weight and Balance with calculations
- Helicopter Test Flights including rotor smoothing and Engine checks
- Packing and shipping of helicopters.
- Repairing and maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic systems and components.
- Troubleshooting and ensuring operational performance and standards of the entire aircraft.
- Maintain and update accurate technical paperwork for assigned work or project.
- Planning, organizing and coordinate work between departments.
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of machines and tools.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy and organized, including tool and parts control.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and promote a safe working environment.
- Develop work methods, procedures, and standards, if necessary.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy and organized including tool and parts control.
- Ensure that all maintenance requirements are carried out to the quality standards of TCCA, Company Quality Control Procedures and the OEMs.
Applicable competencies, aptitudes and qualifications:
- Minimum four (4) years experience with maintenance and installation preferably on AS 350/H125 aircraft and/or Bell medium aircraft.
- Must have a current AME "M" license
- Formal, recognized TCCA AME training (BCIT or equivalent).
- Thorough understanding of all technical documents such as: technical bulletins, alert service bulletins, etc.
- Understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations.
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Willing to work overtime.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
- Must be able to think clearly, and speak intelligibly on the telephone and in person.
- Must be able to manipulate equipment of all sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
