Bid Project Manager
50 - 67.47per hour
Morson are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to lead and deliver complex bids on behalf of our distinguished defence client. Operating primarily in the early stages of the project lifecycle you will run bids as structured, high-impact projects through to contract award and handover into execution. With a particular emphasis on bid management we require a strong project manager with experience of the early stages of engineering projects.
The role is being offered on an initial 12-month contract basis, full time on site in Rochester. We can pay a rate of 50 per hour PAYE or 67.47 per hour Umbrella Inside IR35.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver bid activities as complex projects, from campaign launch and opportunity shaping through to submission, negotiation and contract award.
- Apply robust project management discipline to deliver against schedule, budget, risks and dependencies.
- Develop and communicate clear bid strategies.
- Apply effective monitoring, controls and governance to ensure bids are delivered on time, to quality and in line with commercial and financial objectives.
- Ensure quality, compliance and assurance throughout the bid lifecycle.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, including customers, partners and suppliers.
- Regularly present progress, risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure a smooth and effective handover to Project Execution teams.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience leading complex bids, proposals or early-lifecycle projects from capture through to contract award.
- Experience leading bids within an engineering, aerospace, defence or similarly regulated environment.
- Strong project management capability, with experience applying planning, scheduling, risk management, governance and controls.
- Experience operating across multiple phases of the lifecycle.
- Experience balancing cost, schedule, risk and value.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, written and verbal in order to deliver reports.
- Resilience and confidence operating in high-pressure, time-critical environments.
- Advanced MS Office skills, plus familiarity with MS Project or similar
