The GE9X Nozzle Business Leader is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the GE9X CMC Nozzle production business unit at the Asheville site. This role ensures adherence to safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity standards on the shop floor. The position involves managing direct reports across three shifts, including salaried employees and Team Leaders who oversee hourly employees. The leader is expected to foster a culture of continuous improvement, respect for people, and teamwork while driving operational excellence. Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the GE9X CMC Nozzle business unit to reach defined targets in safety, quality, cost, delivery, inventory and productivity. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and FLIGHT DECK standards.
- Lead, coach, and manage and a team of salaried employees, including Team Leaders responsible for managing hourly employees.
- Own industrialization efforts, rate attainment plans, and NPI launches for the CMC Nozzle manufacturing area.
- Partner with on-site engineering, quality, and external support network to meet all customer delivery requirements. Present projects plans, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior business leaders (EB, SEB, VP) within technical space.
- Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stay informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Use a high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and construct and provide recommendations. Use multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- Lead functional teams or projects with limited resource needs, low risk, and/or moderate complexity. Communicate challenging concepts effectively and influence others’ perspectives on key topics. Guide teams to consider alternative viewpoints and contribute to midterm business plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Operations Management experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of Operations Management experience
