GEA Programs Cost Manager
Job Description:
As GEA Programs Costs Manager you will report directly to the GEA Programs Program Director. You will be responsible for managing and controlling the financial aspects of both NPI (New Product Introduction) and Legacy Programs to ensure they stay within budget and meet financial objectives. This role will require a close collaboration with Program Managers and with key Avio Aero functions to ensure cost program goals are effectively flow down and acknowledged by functions. Additionally, you will engage with external customers, regularly facilitating the exchange of data related to product cost evolution and ongoing cost-optimization initiatives.

Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and adjustment of program budgets as required

  • Continuously monitor program costs, ensuring expenditures align with the approved budget

  • Management of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) using Avio Aero tools and system

  • Support Program Managers in identifying and analyzing cost variances, providing insights into budget deviations, contributing to define corrective actions and the monthly “estimation to complete” for work packages

  • Regularly monitor and report products costs to Program Director and actively support the preparation of standard work material

  • Collaborate with Program Managers and cross-functional teams (e.g. Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Sourcing) to achieve cost-out goals and meet product cost targets, being the focal point for regular operative rhythms execution

  • Overview and maintain product cost reduction projects in company digital tools used to monitor product cost evolution

  • Support Programs/Gate Reviews, meetings with customers and program stakeholders

  • Identify financial risks/opportunities and support in the strategies execution to manage them

  • Have a continuous active role in working with the plant community, to identify and execute on time cost reduction projects in line with customer expectations and program goals

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Management Engineering or Economics

  • Experience in Program Management/Program-Project-Cost Management, aviation sector preferred

  • Knowledge of Finance, Financial Processes, Program and Product Costs

  • Strong interpersonal leadership and ability to work in a cross-functional team

  • Problem solving mindset

  • Able to develop network among peers and stakeholders

  • Able to prevent and identify programs critical issues

  • Take in charge, self-government and self-determination

  • Ability to document, plan, and execute established projects, and management skills

  • Strong oral and written English/Italian communication

  • Italian citizenship

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

  • Knowledge of aeronautical products from engineering, manufacturing technology, supply chain perspective preferred

  • Proactive and positive approach

  • Prompt communication and sense of urgency
