Are you an experienced operations professional with a passion for driving performance, leading large teams, and embedding world-class manufacturing practices? A well-established engineering and technology organisation is seeking an Operations Manager to lead operations at their Midlands facility.
This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day production and delivery, ensuring key operational targets are consistently met while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. You’ll lead a large, multifunctional team and work closely with stakeholders to deliver operational excellence. Full Security Clearance (SC) is required for this role.
What you’ll be doing
• Leading day-to-day production operations, ensuring delivery against key KPIs such as OTIF, productivity, OEE, and budget targets.
• Driving the adoption of world-class manufacturing practices across your area of responsibility.
• Leading, coaching, and developing a large team (100+), building capability and future leadership talent.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align on goals and ensure effective communication.
• Identifying and delivering efficiency improvements, with a focus on waste reduction, labour optimisation, and throughput improvements.
• Driving Value Stream performance through lean initiatives.
• Maintaining a strong focus on quality while implementing continuous improvement strategies.
• Creating and sustaining a culture that embraces change, while ensuring compliance and operational stability.
• Producing accurate and timely manufacturing reports to support business decision-making.
• Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental standards across operations.
What you’ll bring
• Degree qualified (or equivalent experience).
• Proven leadership experience with a strong track record of delivering operational results.
• Experience leading large, multifunctional teams (100+ employees).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, ideally including assembly and machining processes.
• Formal training or certification in process improvement or operational excellence methodologies.
• Ability to influence, motivate, and develop teams at all levels.
Desirable experience
• Background in high-tech manufacturing or complex engineering operations.
• Experience working within high-performance, regulated industries.
