The Metrology Section Manager will work under limited direction and supervision to manage a team of experienced salary and bargaining unit employees across multiple states to support equipment calibration schedules, prioritize work to meet customer demands, create budget forecasts and monitor expenditures, and act as calibration management interface with other organizations to influence policies, practices, and procedures.

What You Will Do 
Manage a Metrology team across multiple geographically separated sites
Influence and collaborate with other managers and directors on Metrology related issues
Forecast workloads and create supporting budgets
Manage indirect and direct cost accounts related to scope of responsibility
Identify and make improvements to processes to enhance area performance
Solve difficult and moderately complex systemic problems
Some domestic travel may be required up to 15 of the time
An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for 3 additional years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have 
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.

Experience in engineering or technical experience in product test, manufacturing, or electronics maintenance environments
Experience leading a team/project
The ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer 
Interpretation of technical documentation

Experience in cost account management
Experience coordinating and collaborating with multiple disciplines and functions
Able to influence people, policies, practices, and procedures
Experience with metrology and calibration processes, systems, and requirements
Experience leading large/complex projects
Ability to effectively communicate at the leadership level

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
 

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
