We’re looking for a Tooling Supervisor to oversee daily activities of the Tooling team within the Materials department. This role is key to ensuring tools are managed, maintained, and available to support our operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, attention to detail, and a focus on efficiency through data-driven decision making. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies, controls, segregates, and maintains all serviceable and unserviceable stock items as designated by the Sr. Planner/Buyer
- Maintains optimal inventory levels to ensure availability without overstocking or shortages.
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of workers to include preparing weekly work schedules, Right person right job, manages overtime.
- Conducts job interviews with prospective applicants.
- Provides guidance and training to tooling and stores clerks.
- Upholds company policies and procedures, and maintains familiarity with the Ascent Aviation Inspection Procedures Manual.
- Maintains a safe work environment while promoting a Team Concept.
- Ensures that all company paperwork is completed, filed and retained.
- Maintains the Materials Review Board (MRB) system.
- Maintains communication within their area of responsibility, keeping employees informed as to day-to-day operation, future and current events.
- Conducts Performance Reviews and Disciplinary Counseling.
- Prepares and distributes Material Reports as required by the Sr. Planner/Buyer
- Manages the calibration tool program to ensure compliance and operational readiness
- Manages the tool rental and loan program, and advises on rent-versus-buy decisions using historical usage data.
- Manages tooling capital expenditure planning and execution.
- Ensure tooling review for projects are conducted, advise on loaned tooling.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all work performed is done in a safe manner. Directs activities to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Must possess knowledge of aircraft tooling, Inventory Control and related software. Computer Skill to include knowledge of Excel, MS Word and inventory management systems. Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of previous material experience, and one years of supervisory experience in leading teams to success required.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Basic understanding of professional email etiquette, including proper spelling and grammar, is required to ensure clear and effective communication.
- Experience using Canva or a similar program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years or more of previous material experience, and two years of supervisory experience in leading teams.
- Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, climbing and lifting, bending, reaching to shoulder level, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 25 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
OTHER DUTIES:
- May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.
- Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of department management.
