Raytheon is looking for a Sales Business Lead for our Taiwan team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a high-yield business opportunity pipeline in Taiwan, developing relationships with Senior leadership Taiwan and US Government authorities in Taiwan, and reporting to the Taiwan Country President.
This role will be onsite in Taipei, Taiwan.
What You Will Do
- Become a customer advocate by listening to customer requirements and needs, understanding their budgeting profiles, acquisition process, and operational timelines.
- Cultivate and sustain long term customer intimacy and access through in-person engagements to provide first-to-spanet knowledge of customer’s requirements; serve as customers’ trusted advisor to create, shape, and develop new business opportunities.
- Business creation: identify, validate, and develop new business leads for prioritized Raytheon capabilities (products / services) to facilitate international bookings growth.
- Collaborate with business development and product line leads, supply chain, engineering, legal, and offset managers, along with government relations teams to enhance our 5-year international business pipeline outlook.
- Provide Requirements & Capabilities (R&C) team with in-country insights, environmental background, and competitive intelligence to facilitate opportunity qualification through the pipeline opportunity gating process.
- Support capture and program implementation teams during their in-country visits to Taiwan.
- Prepare customer insights, customer contact plans and impact maps; facilitate access and guide customer engagements to help increase contract probability of award (POA).
- Engage with Government Authorities at all levels and developing the senior level relationships with the Taiwan government officials at the Legislative Yuan (Congress), Executive Yuan, Presidential Office, Ministry of National Defense, Military Services, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Foreign Affairs, National Security Council, etc.
- Advocate for defense budgets and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) approvals and shaping provisions and policies.
- Coordinate and participate in engagements with multiple levels of customers including decision makers, influencers, and third parties particularly at major regional defense trade shows, symposiums, seminars, and other public venues.
- Partner with the internal network of representatives operating in Taiwan; identify, vet, and support on-boarding of new representatives & consultants aligned to business priorities; fully leverage reps & consultants to shape requirements and improve competitive advantage.
- Identify potential strategic partnering, teaming, industrial participation, and offset opportunities with Taiwanese companies to increase the footprint and impact in Taiwan.
- Serve as a valued and trusted partner across the company, collaborating with and supporting other business units where needed.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years experience.
- Experience with the Taiwan Defense acquisition process.
- Experience with Government Affairs and working with Senior Government Leadership.
- Experience working in the military and/or national security.
- Experience working in Business Development (or Program / Project Management).
- Experience with Aerospace and Defense; working knowledge of capabilities, technologies, solutions and services.
- Experience developing and executing an international business development pipeline.
- Experience with international business development experience working in Taiwan.
- Extensive contacts/active working relationships with the Taiwan customer community - defense/military, government authorities, industries, and industry representatives.
- Native Taiwan speaking / listening / writing.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Understanding of Taiwan’s offset policy and interaction with Industrial Cooperation Program Office (ICPO).
- Understanding of Taiwan’s indigenous development efforts with National Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) and Aerospace Industrial Development Cooperation (AIDC).
- Understanding of the relationship between the defense industrial complex and American Institute in Taiwan (AIT).
- Ability to develop relationships with the legislative and executive Yuan offices and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) / Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
